About Us

Magnum Opus Ranch Mission Statement

The mission of Magnum Opus Ranch, Inc., is to empower the minds, hearts, and spirits of children and teens who are struggling with various life circumstances and situations, through the art of our specialized Magnum Opus Ranch Horsemanship Program.

Magnum Opus Ranch Horsemanship Program

Horsemanship includes every aspect and interaction between the human and the horse prior to, during, and after the ride. The Magnum Opus Ranch Team has created an intentional, specific program that provides life lessons with every aspect of the horsemanship lesson. For example, a lesson about earning the respect of the horse becomes a lesson regarding the importance of self-respect and respect for others for the Participant.

Magnum Opus Ranch Clubs

The purpose of all Magnum Opus Ranch Clubs is to enrich children and teens that are struggling, whether it be with ADD, ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, depression, anxiety, etc., as well as typically-developing children and teens who are experiencing challenging family situations or other life difficulties such as, divorce, death in the family, bullying, low self-esteem or low self-confidence, etc. A referral from a teacher, pastor, or mental health counselor is required for admission to our clubs.

Mustang Club

The Mustang Club is offered to able-bodied children and teens (ages 8 to 17) who are experiencing behavioral issues or are affected with disorders or other limiting afflictions such as ADD, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, low-level Autism, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, etc. The Mustang Club includes the Magnum Opus Ranch Horsemanship Program and focuses on the engagement and bond between the Participant and horse. This engagement and bond with "their" horse is where the magic, growth, and healing takes place. Each session is approximately 1.5 - 2 hours long. Cost: $90 per session.

Saddle Club

Our Saddle Club is offered to typically-developing children and teens (ages 8 to 17) who are experiencing family challenges or life difficulties. With the use of the Magnum Opus Ranch Horsemanship Program, we teach Participants all aspects of riding a horse while providing valuable life lessons. Each lesson is 1 hour. Cost: $65 per hour/lesson.

Trail Blazer's Club

Much like the Saddle Club, the Trail Blazer's Club is offered to typically-developing children and teens (ages 8 to 17) who are experiencing family challenges or life difficulties, but this club is also based on the Participant's level of riding experience. As it's name suggests, this club is all about riding on the nearby Picayune Strand trails. The relaxing calmness that trail riding provides creates the perfect environment to discuss life challenges with our Participants. Each ride is approximately 1 hour. Cost: $65 per ride/hour.

Magnum Opus Ranch Spring and Summer Camps

Our Magnum Opus Ranch camps are provided during school breaks to children and teens (ages 8 to 17). Each week-long camp offers the Magnum Opus Ranch Horsemanship Program along with daily horse activities and light lunch. Camp hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $275 per week, per child.

Any child who could benefit from Magnum Opus Ranch services will not be denied based on the inability to pay. A sliding fee discount program based on family size and income is available to those that qualify.
